My first pregnancy was hell from the word go.
I started to get sick from about 9 weeks and i was sick until 38weeks.
At 5 months i had gone to work and i was taken to the hospital 5 minutes later due to extreme abdominal pain.
Once there at the hospital i was given tests and told that i had an infection.
I was sent home and told to rest for a few days.
Then for the next 4 months i was sick everyday except for about one day a week.
Then at 36 weeks i was watching my nephews and neices play touch football and i sat down and then the next time i went to get up i was practically immobile.
I was in extreme pain once again and after 2 hours of begging my mother finally convinced me to go to the hospital except it took half an hour to get into my car.
Once at the hospital i had alot of blood taken out and told i had high blood pressure and was admitted for the night.
Once there i wasnt allowed to leave and then thats when they told me that i had pre-eclampsia
had my baby had stopped growing.
All this had started at 5 months but they just didnt think of it!
After daily traces,2 ultrasounds a week and 2 weeks of being in hospital on strict bedrest
i was told that i was to have my baby today or we could both die if i went into labour!!!!!!!
Just a bit of a shock to the system at 19.
6 hours after being told the news we had a cesarean section and at 6:17pm on February 11th 2003 we had a little boy Dre' Calem weighing 4 pound 6 ounces and being 44cm long both apgar tests were 9 and 10.
Apart from a little touch from asthma when he was 4 months old he is now a cheeky little boy.
