I have 6 children the last three born at home with a midwife. I am an aspiring midwife, an active member of my state midwifery organization, a certified childbirth educator with ALACE, and recently completed doula training with the Holistic Midwifery Institute in Ann Arbor, MI. I would love to put my skills to work on this site! I have lots of information to share, subscribe to 2 professional periodicals(Midwifery Today and Special Delivery), as well as several email lists for pregnancy/childbirth professionals.

I am knowledgeable on the topics of prenatal care, aids for pregnancy discomforts, prenatal testing, hospital procedures, homebirth, prenatal exercise and nutrition, both the emotional and physiological aspects of labor and birth, complications of both pregnancy and birth, breastfeeding, newborn care, and much more.

In my personal life I practice attachment parenting (before I knew it had a name!), and have breastfed and cloth diapered all of my children.

Pregnancy and birth work are my passion and my calling. I can not think of a better way for me to support women during this exciting and magical time in their lives.
